Frequently asked questions.

Are you a psychiatrist?

Short answer - no. However, I am licensed to prescribe medications and do therapy just like a psychiatrist would. I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. You can read more about me here.

Do you do Therapy?

My primary role is to prescribe and manage medications. However, I am licensed to do therapy. Depending on the type of therapy you are interested in, I would recommend seeing a therapist or psychologist in addition to seeing me. Psychology Today is a great resource where you can search for therapists that take you insurance and offer the kind of therapy you are hoping to receive.

Do you accept Insurance?

We do accept many insurances including Aetna, United Healthcare, Cigna, DMBA, University of Utah Health plans, PEHP, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Select Health, and EMI. We are hoping to add Tricare Prime and Humana soon. Enter your insurance information here and we will be happy to see if you are in-network.

How often will I need to see you?

This entirely depends on your situation. Generally we will meet more frequently in the beginning until you are satisfied with your medication regimen. Then, we may only need to meet every 3-6 months.

Do you see kids/teenagers?

I am licensed to see the individuals of all ages and have experience with working with children and adolescents.

Do you offer telehealth or only in-person visits?

I offer both. You may schedule either according to your preferences. If possible, I would recommend meeting in-person for our first visit together. If you are currently on a controlled medication (i.e. Adderall, Alprazolam, Suboxone, etc) you will need to be seen at least once/year in-person.

Where are you located?

My office is in Bountiful, UT at 533 W 2600 S #340, Bountiful, UT 84010. My mission is to serve the local community and provide access to mental health care services in Davis County.
