Garrett Jefferies, PMHNP-BC

Maybe you’ve tried working with a Psychiatrist before and it didn’t work out. Or, maybe you’ve been doing well on a few medications and always thought you would eventually adjust them or come off of them but you don’t know where to start. I’m here to help.

Brigham Young University - Idaho: Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing

  • Garrett is a graduate of Vanderbilt University, the US News ranked #1 Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner program in the nation for many years. Prior to working in mental health, Garrett was an ICU nurse at the University of Utah Hospital where he cared for patients throughout the peak of the pandemic. He also specialized in neurological critical care, caring for patients suffering from traumatic brain injuries, strokes, seizures, brain bleeds, and recovery from brain surgery. He recently started Mind Anchor because he believes that success in mental health is ultimately achieved through sustainable lifestyle change and that medications and therapy are often necessary tools in that process.

A little about me: I like to play the guitar and compose music, hiking, and learning anything new. Most of all I enjoy spending time with my wife and two kids. I have worked many different odd jobs in many different fields including working as a Hula dancer, school bus driver, and security guard. Overtime I developed a passion for mental health, ultimately deciding to work in psychiatry when I saw the impact on mental health during the pandemic.
